Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a reply message from Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on April 28.

The reply message is as follows:

Dear Comrade Kim Jong Un,

A delegation of the Korean People's Army led by Pak Yong Il, vice-director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, left Pyongyang on April 28 to take part in the Third International Anti-Fascist Congress to be held in Russia.

It was seen off at Pyongyang International Airport by KPA generals and other officers and the military attache of the Russian embassy in Pyongyang. 

Working people across the country turned out in the drive for increased production and made laudable labour achievements on the occasion of April 15, the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. 

The Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, which has achieved production growth every day in April, produced thousands of tons of more fertilizer than planned by April 15. 

The workers of the synthesis workshop in charge of the important process of fertilizer production have increased the capacity of the synthetizing tower to the maximum, while the gas purification, water electrolysis and several other workshops have developed new methods for raising the utilization rate of equipment and increasing the actual yield.

The Flower Festival-2025 closed with due ceremony at the April 15 Children's Flower Garden in Pyongyang on April 28. 

Present there were officials concerned, participants in the festival and working people in Pyongyang.

Diplomas were awarded to the highly appreciated organizations, units and participants including Pyongyang Municipality, South Hamgyong and North Phyongan provinces, the Ministry of Information Industry, the Pyongyang Construction Commission, the State Academy of Sciences, the Okryu Exhibition House, the Wonsan City Floricultural Station and the April 15 Children's Flower Garden. 

Making all people well versed in science and technology is an undertaking to prepare all members of society as intelligent workers with the intellectual level of a university graduate and as developers of science and technology.

Under the study-while-you-work system, working people receive distance education to acquire broad scientific and technological knowledge.

Through sci-tech diffusion bases of their units, they fully display their creative abilities and wisdom in solving the problems arising in production and management activities.

A Russian deputy foreign minister took part in a cultural event held in Moscow on April 25 to denounce some countries’ attempt to distort history.

Expressing concern over the recent moves to revive Nazism, he accused some countries of obliterating the role of the Soviet Union which destroyed fascism, portraying Nazi war criminals and their accomplices as “heroes” and destroying monuments to Soviet soldiers, their liberators.

He stressed that the repetition of the tragedy caused by fascism can never be tolerated and to this end it is important to preserve the historical memories.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, issued a statement on April 28 as regards the participation of the combat sub-units of the armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the operations for liberating the Kursk area of the Russian Federation.

On April 26, 2025, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation finally defeated the group of Ukrainian militants that invaded the Kursk Region, putting an end to the criminal provocation perpetrated by the Ukrainian authorities in an attempt to seize part of the Russian Federation territory. 

The chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry and a military expert highly praised the combat sub-units of the armed forces of the DPRK for making a great contribution to annihilating the Ukrainian army which invaded the territory of Russia.

On April 26, Valery Gerassimov, chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, reported to President Vladimir Putin that the operations for liberating the Kursk area to repel the adventurous invasion by the Ukrainian authorities were victoriously concluded. He in his report said as follows:

I want to point out the participation of servicemen from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the liberation of Kursk Region's border areas, who, in accordance with the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, provided significant assistance in defeating the invading group of the Ukrainian armed forces.

The Ninth April Spring People’s Art Festival took place with splendour at different theatres in the capital city of Pyongyang between April 10 and 17 on the occasion of the 113th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. 

Drawing artistic group members of different institutions, industrial establishments and farms, the festival was held, divided into the categories of city and county (combined) art groups, art groups of institutions, art groups of industrial establishments and art groups of farms.

Performances were given by art group members of Haeju City, Songchon County, Phyongchon District and Kumya County at the Pyongyang Grand Theatre, the Hall of Culture of the Ministry of Railways, the Central Youth Hall and the Central Hall of Workers in Pyongyang.
