Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visits Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery

Boundless respects of all the people of the DPRK greeting the great V-Day are extended to the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery at the foot of Mt Sokpak where the dignified flags of our powerful state and the Workers’ Party of Korea embrace the heroic war martyrs in their immortal images.

Solemnly recalling the revolutionary spirit of the defenders of the country in the 1950s, who provided the immortal glory and honour of heroic Korea and its heroic people, senior state officials, commanding officers of the People’s Army, working people and new generations including students of revolutionary schools and youth and students, together with war veterans, visit the cemetery with beautiful flowers in their hands.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, visited the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery on the morning of July 26 on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

The guard of honour of the Korean People’s Army lined up at the cemetery.

Recollecting with deep emotion the immortal heroic spirit and noble self-sacrifice of the victorious wartime generation, who devoted their youth and lives for their greatest and sacred motherland, he laid a flower before the cemetery and paid a high tribute to the martyrs.

In the early 20th century Korea was reduced to a colony of the Japanese imperialists and the Koreans experienced colonial slavery from 1905 to 1945.

During their national ruin, they were deprived of even their elementary human rights, to say nothing of their national sovereignty, and their territory was turned into a huge prison.

Only after General Kim Il Sung liberated the country and enforced all democratic reforms including the agrarian reform could the Koreans become a people of a full-fledged independent sovereign state and true masters of land and the country, thus fulfilling their centuries-old desires.

Party, government and military officials pay condolatory visit to Vietnamese embassy

Officials of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, the Cabinet of the DPRK, armed forces organs and ministries visited the Vietnamese embassy in Pyongyang on July 25 to mourn the death of Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Among them were Kang Yun Sok, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Jong Myong Su, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Won Kyong Ho, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Army Lieutenant General Kim Min Sop, vice-minister of National Defence, Pak Sang Gil, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Kim In Chol, vice-minister of Public Security, and Ri Thae Myong, vice-chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee.

A wreath in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK was laid before the photo of Nguyen Phu Trong.

Participants in celebrations of 71st anniversary of war victory arrive in Pyongyang

Celebrations of the 71st anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War will be held with splendour in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK.

Invited to the celebrations were war veterans and persons of wartime merits and officials and labour innovators in the field of munitions industry across the country.

The participants in the celebrations of the 71st anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War left relevant areas and arrived in Pyongyang on July 25.

Schoolchildren meet for story-telling

A schoolchildren's story-telling meeting, "Victorious wartime generation and I", took place at the Central Youth Hall in Pyongyang on July 25, fully demonstrating the brave appearance of Korean Children's Union members who are preparing themselves as reliable successors of the socialist country as befit the descendants of the great victors.

At the meeting, great-grandchildren of anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters and war veterans told about the immortal feats of the victorious wartime generation who devoted themselves to the war victory with absolute loyalty to the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, ardent love for the country and strong will to annihilate the enemy.

 The meeting ended with chorus "March of the Children's Union" and "Ready Always for the Socialist Country". It showed well the will of schoolchildren to study harder and grow up to be pillars of Juche Korea, desired by the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un, with the soul and spirit of the great victorious wartime generation.

Women's union officials and members hold oratorical meeting

Women’s union officials and members had an oratorical meeting at the Hall of Women in Pyongyang on July 25 to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

Present there were Jon Hyang Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea, women's union officials and members of the women's union in Pyongyang.

The performers highly praised the great personality of President Kim Il Sung who led the Fatherland Liberation War to a brilliant victory with his distinguished military stratagem and outstanding leadership. 

Premier Kim Tok Hun meets Belarus foreign minister

Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and premier of the Cabinet, met and had a talk with Maxim Vladimirovich Ryzhenkov, foreign minister of the Republic of Belarus who paid a courtesy call on him at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang on July 25.

Present there were officials of the Foreign Ministry, the Agricultural Commission, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Health of the DPRK and the entourage of the Belarus foreign minister.

The talk proceeded in a friendly atmosphere. 

Belarus foreign minister visits different places of Pyongyang

Maxim Vladimirovich Ryzhenkov, foreign minister of the Republic of Belarus, and his party visited the Tower of the Juche Idea.

They listened to the explanation on the grand monument showing the ideological and theoretical exploits of President Kim Il Sung and went up to the observation deck of the tower to get a bird's-eye view of Pyongyang.

They also toured the Arch of Triumph, Kim Il Sung University, Pyongyang Teachers Training College and others and laid a wreath before the Liberation Tower.
