Premier Kim Tok Hun, who is also member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, inspected the agricultural sector of South Hwanghae Province.

As he visited farms in Jaeryong, Anak, Sinchon, Thaethan, Pyoksong, Chongdan and Yonan counties and other areas, he said agricultural officials in the province should plan and guide the immediate farming processes more effectively, bearing in mind the importance of duty they assume for attaining the grain production goal for this year.

He stressed the need to set the right harvest time in consideration of the ripening rate of rice ears and weather conditions scientifically as the growth of paddy rice has entered the final stage and concentrate efforts and means on harvesting it in time without loss, while making preparations for next year’s wheat and barley farming in a far-sighted way.

Women's union officials and members met at the Hall of Women in Pyongyang on September 6 to celebrate the 76th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

Present there were officials of the central committee of the women's union and union officials and members in Pyongyang.

A performance of the artistic information squad of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League (SPYL) was given at the Central Youth Hall in Pyongyang on September 6 to celebrate the 76th birthday of the DPRK.

Among the audience were Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Mun Chol, chairman of the SPYL Central Committee, youth league officials and youth and students in Pyongyang. 

The performance, pulsating with the revolutionary will of young people to demonstrate their honour as a detached force and vanguard unit of the Party Central Committee on the road of translating the plan and desire of the Party into reality, won great acclaim from the audience. 

The DPRK Championships opened with due ceremony at the Basketball Gymnasium on Chongchun Street in Pyongyang on September 6.

At the championships, sports clubs, sports teams and sports education units in Pyongyang and local areas will compete in more than 550 categories of 39 events such as football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, gymnastics, weightlifting and Taekwon-Do.

The championships will take place in the capital city of Pyongyang, Sariwon and Wonsan cities and other parts of the country.

The 19th National Ssirum Contest for Grand Bull Prize took place at the national ssirum ground on Rungna Islet on September 5-6.

Twelve players selected from each province (city under the direct control of the government) decided rankings through catch-weight matches.

Divided into four groups, the participants played group league and additional matches. The winners advanced to the finals and competed on a knock-out basis.

The Hyonnae and Kyejong farms in Kumchon County, North Hwanghae Province, are full of happy laughter of the agricultural workers enjoying a highly-civilized life in the thriving countryside under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Looking at hundreds of modern low- and single-storied dwelling houses built on the farms, the agricultural workers look back with deep emotion on the benevolence of the WPK that translates into reality everything the people desire.

Present at the ceremony for moving into new houses were Mun Chang Il, secretary of the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the WPK, and officials, builders and agricultural workers in Kumchon County. Kim Son Il, chairman of the provincial people's committee, made a congratulatory address.

The congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan for celebrating the 76th birthday of the DPRK led by Ko Tok U, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, visited Mangyongdae, the birthplace of President Kim Il Sung, on September 6.

After visiting the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Museum, members of the congratulatory group recalled the glorious revolutionary history of the President at his old home.

They looked round the historical relics preserved there with much care.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un received a basket of flowers from Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, president of Mongolia, on the occasion of the 76th birthday of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The flower basket was handed over to an official concerned by the Mongolian ambassador to Pyongyang on September 6.
