Australia sustains severe wildfire damage
According to information published by Australia National University on January 7, over 18 million hectares of grassland were burnt away in the country last year. It said wildfires killed nearly 500 people.
For Australia, 2020 was recorded as the year when it suffered the most serious damage from wildfire.
Severe drought has reportedly persisted for three years in the southeastern part of the country due to climate change.
