China directs efforts to protecting ecological environment

China’s Tibet autonomous region channelled big efforts into planting trees in the past five years, creating 3 976 732 160 square metres of new forests.

The regional government plans to plant 20 million trees in the areas whose height is under 4 300 metres above sea till 2023.

The Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region set a goal of creating 4 900 245 square metres of green areas this year.

In addition, 17 000 km-long sections of rivers and streams were arranged in the country last year.
