Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, had a photo session with the participants in the Third Conference of Company Commanders of the Korean People's Army on October 27.

He was accompanied by Pak Jong Chon, vice-chairman of the WPK Central Military Commission.

Present there were Kim Song Gi, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, Ri Yong Gil, chief of the General Staff of the KPA, Yu Kwang U, first deputy director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, and commanders of all services and large combined units.

All the participants broke into enthusiastic cheers with deep reverence for the great, iron-willed brilliant commander who indicated the bright path for firmly guaranteeing the absolute might and eternal victory of the armed forces of the Republic with his outstanding army-building idea and energetic leadership and placed the company commanders in the vanguard of it, repeatedly showing great trust and warm love for them.

Comrade Kim Jong Un waved back to the cheering participants as a token of his encouragement to them who powerfully demonstrated the staunch revolutionary spirit and militant mettle of the commanding officers of a new generation who will shoulder the future of the KPA through the recent conference, which constituted a historic occasion for accelerating the fresh innovation and simultaneous development of the entire army.

Saying that the current world-startling mightiness of the KPA is attributable to the fact that all its companies, the grass-roots units and cornerstone of the army, are steady and possess the inexhaustible political and ideological strength and matchless combat capabilities, incomparably greater than any ultra-modern military hardware, he highly appreciated once again the brilliant feats of the commanders who are in charge of companies, the bases of soldiers' living and the main combat units of the armed forces of the DPRK, and serve as the engine for performing countless military exploits and outstanding services with their ardent loyalty, revolutionary spirit of service and devoted efforts.

The unique role of the company commanders in the building of a strong army we are aiming at is so important that it can never be determined according to the ranks of commanding officers and the number of stars on the collar badge, he said, stressing that it is the firm determination and will of the Party Central Committee to courageously carry out the gigantic historic task of strengthening the entire army and accelerating the military revolution in the new era, along with the buildup of companies, by relying just on the company commanders.

The primary revolutionary task of the company commanders is to round off the combat preparations of their units for getting fully ready for fighting a war and the way for its implementation is to bring about a revolution in the strenuous and intensive training, he said, noting that they should prove their loyalty to the Party and the revolution, the country and the people and their ability as organizers and commanders with the proud success of turning their companies into the ranks of strong and a-match-for-a-hundred combatants with the firm revolutionary faith, patriotic spirit, matchlessly heroic mettle and fighting efficiency.

He said that the foundation of our armed forces would further be cemented and the future of the cause of building a strong army would be rosy forever, thanks to the ardent and reliable company commanders with a thorough revolutionary spirit. Expressing his expectations and belief that all the participants in the conference would redouble their efforts to strengthen their companies and thus bring about a successful result without fail, he had photos taken with them.

The participants in the Third Conference of Company Commanders of the KPA renewed their firm determination to demonstrate the heroic spirit peculiar to the KPA and its tradition of invincibility by thoroughly implementing the Party Central Committee’s original line of attaching importance to companies and strengthening them and live up to the great trust and loving care of Comrade Kim Jong Un by dedicating themselves to the sacred struggle for defending in every way the eternal prosperity of the country and the well-being of the people.
