A single spark ignites a big fire that burns fiercely.

The unbounded enthusiasm for volunteering is spreading like wildfire across the country, greatly impressing all people and firing them with patriotic fever.

The 22nd May 21 Architectural Festival will start at the Sci-Tech Complex in Pyongyang on May 13.

The festival, which will be held on the theme of "The new era of comprehensive national rejuvenation and Juche-oriented architecture", will display architectural layouts, successes in introducing the architectural information modelling technology, construction equipment and tools selected at provincial (municipal) festivals, and there will be an expert examination and amateur evaluation of exhibits.

During the festival there will be an experience-sharing meeting and dissemination and exchange of latest architectural sci-tech data. 

Shortly ago, an unusual natural cave was discovered in Iryong-ri of Kowon County, South Hamgyong Province.

The cave, located on the hillside about 7.4km away from the seat of Iryong-ri, is a karst cave formed under the influence of underground water in the limestone area. The main cave is over 240m long and it consists of four short side caves and three vertical caves.

It unfolds a spectacular view as there are masses of yellow, white and black stalagmites and stalactites of various shapes and sizes in five sections.

DPRK weightlifter Kim Yong Ju came first at the 2025 IWF World Youth and Junior Championships held in Peru.

Kim Yong Ju won three gold medals in the junior women's 81kg category on May 4 by lifting 110kg in snatch, 142kg in clean and jerk and 252kg in total.

Meanwhile, Kim Ju Phyong finished runner-up in the junior men's 61kg category by lifting 124kg in snatch. 

An event took place at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club on May 5 to mark the International Day of the Midwife 2025.

Present there were officials of the Ministry of Public Health, officials concerned and medical workers of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and others in Pyongyang.

Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the need to treasure and preserve historical memory in a recent congratulatory message sent to the organizers of and participants in the international music festival “Road toward Yalta”.

Referring to the fact that the festival taking place just before V-Day has contributed to preserving historical memory of the Great Patriotic War, he said that wartime songs and truthful songs dedicated to militant friendship, loyalty and intense love for the country and native places have again resounded in different languages.

He stressed that these songs created decades ago still encourage and unite the Russian people and that they constitute the historical and spiritual assets everyone should cherish and hand down to their children.

Among more than 300 young people in North Hamgyong Province who volunteered to work at major sites of socialist construction in January this year, there are university graduates who settled at the revolutionary battle site management station in the area of the Paektusan Secret Camp, newly-built regional-industry factories, the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm, etc.

They expressed their determination to devote all their strength and wisdom to the country, saying it is the duty of university graduates to shoulder the heavy burden on the country before others and add youth and vitality to the motherland.

Many other university graduates across the country also settled in the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu and schools in mountainous areas.

Fishery units in Kangwon Province are building up their material and technical foundations.

The Songdowon Fishery Station is pushing ahead with the building of a multi-purpose fishing boat equipped with modern fishing tackle at the final stage.

The employees of the Thongchon Fishery Station are overhauling fishing boats and repairing engines, hulls and fishing tackle.

During their military occupation of Korea from 1905 to 1945, the Japanese imperialists cooked up and promulgated all kinds of draconian laws in an extensive way to brutally kill numerous patriots and innocent people of Korea.

One of those laws is the “law on maintenance of public order”.
