Quack prescriptions pose public health problem in UK

It has become a general practice for doctors in the UK to give patients quack prescriptions and thereby jeopardize their lives and health, causing serious social problems.

According to a recent report issued by the government of the country, about 110 million quack prescriptions are made by health institutions on an annual average, accounting for 10 percent of total prescriptions.

Medicines used by such prescriptions have no effect in curing diseases, but even cause harmful consequences on human body.

In the UK, 6.5 percent of patients were taken to hospitals due to harmful side effects of medicines.

Such situations are attributed to the fact that doctors, who are engrossed in money making, give out prescriptions at random without correctly diagnosing their health conditions before starting treatment, and do not properly inform them of how to use medicines.
