Since it made its debut in the opening ceremony of the Pyongyang Institute, founded as a base for training military and political cadres of the country after Korea’s liberation, the Central Military Band of the Ministry of National Defence has made proud achievements in the history of the strengthening and development of the heroic Korean People's Army, upholding the Party and the country and powerfully encouraging the whole army to victory by dint of the revolutionary military music pulsating with the breath of the times and the spirit of the powerful army.
Among the audience were No Kwang Chol, minister of National Defence of the DPRK, Kim Song Gi, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, other commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence, officials of the WPK Central Committee, ministries, national agencies and institutions and enterprises in Pyongyang, creative workers and artistes of military and civilian art troupes and service personnel.
The concert began with the solemn playing of the national anthem of the DPRK. The performers played the stirring melodies of the revolutionary military music filled with the militant spirit to highly extol the course of development of the heroic KPA, which has defended the vigorous lifeblood of the ever-victorious Juche revolution and reliably guaranteed the invincibility and mightiness of the DPRK under the leadership of the WPK.
The concert was acclaimed by the audience as it impressively showed the noble ideological and spiritual world and the will of loyalty of all the service personnel to add eternal lustre to the honour of the KPA, which has always remained faithful to the order of the country and its sacred appellation as the army of the Party and the people and created tales of legendary victories and miracles.
He said that the brilliant history of the KPA is clearly associated with the feats of the Central Military Band of the Ministry of National Defence which has displayed the tremendous might incomparable with any military hardware by encouraging the brave and heroic army by dint of revolutionary military music from one decade to the next and from one century to the next. He fervently said that he has always paid respect to the military band as a group of soldiers representing the revolutionary army, rather than as an art troupe.
He highly appreciated that the Central Military Band of the Ministry of National Defence is the face of the state and symbol of the KPA, noting that wherever its military music resounded, there were the stirring scenes in which matchless valour was demonstrated and epoch-making changes were brought about.
He stressed that the creative workers and instrumentalists of the military band should have boundless loyalty to the Party, the country and the people and great artistic skills and encourage the advance of the KPA by dint of revolutionary military music. And he had a photo taken with all the creative workers, instrumentalists and officials, expressing his expectations and belief that the military band would always remain faithful to its most honourable mission.
