Year-long funeral music

The number of gun-related deaths in the United States hit an all-time record in 2021.

According to the US Gun Violence Archive, the gun-related deaths broke the record last year reaching 44 750 in total. Among them, 20 660 were killed by crimes and 24 090 committed suicide. And the number of the injured reached 40 359.

It said that 1 046 children aged under 12 fell victim to shooting sprees, far surpassing 999 of the previous year, to be the highest record since 2014. Of them, 308 were killed and 738 injured.

The number of the victims of minors from 12 to 17 reached

4 552. This also broke the previous year’s record (4 142). And there were 691 cases of such deadly shootings that claimed at least four lives.

More than 800 people were gunned down in Chicago, Illinois, last year, marking it the most violent year in 25 years. The number of the gun-related deaths reached 400 in 15 years in Los Angeles, California. And the gun-related violent culture of American society is becoming an incurable chronic disease with the previous murder record being renewed in nine major cities.

The gun-related crime, whose record is renewed on a daily basis, is an inevitable outcome born of the corrupt social system.

In the US, possession of gun is legal and its procedure is becoming much more simplified, and it has become a social trend for the citizens to purchase weapons competitively.

According to the data published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), 17 million guns were sold on a nationwide scale from January to November 2021, the second largest sale since 2000. It is none other than the US where the citizens are judged as the most well-armed ones in the world as one third of adults have guns.

The bloody shooting incidents take place everywhere just in peacetime, not in wartime. Therefore, funeral music is being played regardless of the time and it will continue to sound, cursing American society.
