He mounted the destroyer Choe Hyon to inspect the sailors' training for vessel operation and the process of the shakedown for assessing the destroyer's performance and capability to carry out operations.
He praised the sailors for having achieved successes in the new year’s combat and political training for perfectly acquiring the military and technological qualifications, the level of which was set by the Party Central Committee for the operation of the new-type destroyer.
On the destroyer he acquainted himself with the sailors' preparedness for controlling the warship and handling its various weapon systems.
That day, a trial cruise of the destroyer took place in his presence to assess the elements of its manoeuvrability.
The crew members of the destroyer were in high spirits as they would go on the trial cruise under his supervision.
