Syrian force seizes strategic highway from rebels
The Syrian government forces, after a weeks-long battle in the country area of Idlib and Aleppo, seized the control over the Damascus-Aleppo highway which is of strategic importance and, on the basis of this, intensified the offensive against the rebel forces.
On Feb 16 alone, the Syrian army recaptured 13 towns and villages in the northwestern part of Aleppo.

Iranian President: Iran will never yield to US pressure
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, in a press conference on Feb 16, said that the US strategy of maximum pressure against Iran is doomed to failure as he announced the intention not to negotiate with the US under pressure.
The road to be followed by the Iranians is the resistance against US pressure, he added.
US blamed for killing by drones
The US foreign policy think-tank, Randolph Bourne institute, recently exposed the man-killing the US forces committed using drones by quoting a retired officer’s notes.
In his notes, the retired officer called Brandon Bryant admitted that his drone unit of the US Air Force carried out drone attacks on 1 626 objects during his military service as a command pilot between 2006 and 2011, and that he himself killed at least 13 civilians.
Spy satellite launch tells what
On Feb 9 Japan sent latest spy satellite Optical 7 into space.
Earlier, Russian newspaper Rossiskaya Gazeta said that the new satellite sets it as its basic mission to collect the espionage data related to the DPRK.
Thousands of tons of organic fertilizer produced
The Yokphyong Vegetable Cooperative Farm in Huichon, Jagang Province, has produced thousands of tons of organic fertilizer and carried it to fields. Unlike previously, the farm built structures with vinyl sheets and dug the floor about one metre deep to produce more hukposan fertilizer while ensuring appropriate temperature even in winter conditions.

The Sambong Cooperative Farm in Phyongwon County, South Phyongan Province, secured over 40 000 square metres of vinyl sheets and over 1 000 pieces of tractor and rice transplanter parts in more than 20 kinds and produced over 20 000 tons of quality organic fertilizer to carry it to the fields.

Power station project makes progress
Marked progress has been made in the construction of Orangchon Power Station Unit 4 in North Hamgyong Province, the DPRK.
As of right now, the construction of Changpho Dam, houses for station employees, public buildings, a waterway tunnel extending for thousands of metres and a generator room has been completed. And the installation of pressure iron pipe conduit and preparations for the test run of the generator have been finished.

Russia condemns EU for lack of independence

At the Headquarters log cabin, they learnt the fact that President Kim Il Sung had set the place as a strategic base of the Korean revolution in the latter half of the 1930s and led the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle.
