Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryavkov, at a press conference on February 24, censured the US for falsely claiming that Russia might deploy nuclear weapons in outer space. 

Saying that the US is hurling slanders without any reason or evidence, he asserted that those who do sound thinking in the international community have known this since a long time ago and brushed aside such vilification.

Revealing that the US has long tried to take upper hand in outer space by involving the weapons sector in it, he noted that it is the same old trick of the US to falsely accuse other countries and make drastic moves against the interests of international security under such an excuse.
