The finals of the Agricultural Workers Sports Games-2024 took place at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on March 5.
Among the spectators were Premier Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Ju Chol Gyu, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea, chairpersons of provincial (cities under the direct control of the government) rural economy committees, exemplary agricultural workers and Pyongyang citizens.
Prior to the finals, Ri Chol Man, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, made a speech.
He called upon all the participants to fully display the united might and techniques of the collective in the finals so as to clearly prove the validity and vitality of the Party's policy on mass sports activities and make positive contributions to the implementation of the programme for the rural revolution in the new era.
There were a march-past of teams from all the provinces and a demonstration of gymnasts before the finals in each sports event.
North Hwanghae Province came first in team standings of the contest.
