The Russian government directs efforts to preventing the spread of infectious diseases.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova said on March 29 that last year six kinds of dangerous infectious diseases were prevented from spreading in the country by the hygienic and anti-epidemic control system established in the border areas.

She requested the supervisory bureau of consumer’s right protection and human well-being to put forward a proposal for implementing the state policy on the field of chemical and biological security in consideration of accumulated experience.

Meanwhile, the term of the present restriction measures related to the novel coronavirus has been prolonged until December 31 this year in St Petersburg.

Still, the ο variant reportedly keeps prevailing in the country.
