Week-long film show opens to celebrate April holiday

A week-long film show opened in the DPRK to celebrate the significant April spring holiday.

Documentary films dealing with the noble revolutionary career and immortal exploits of President Kim Il Sung and feature films on various themes will be screened at cinemas and cultural houses across the country during the show.

Present at the opening ceremony held at the Pyongyang International Cinema House on April 9 were Ju Chang Il, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People's Committee, officials, creators and artistes in the film sector and working people in Pyongyang.

Jong Yong Nam, director-general of the National Administration of Motion Picture Industry, made an opening address.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants watched a documentary film "Our Leader Praised by All People".

Similar events took place in each province on the same day.
