A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry on April 18 rejected the double-dealing of the Group of Seven.

Referring to the fact that G7 issued on April 17 a joint statement denouncing Iran's retaliatory military operation against Israel, he described such behaviour as a contradictory act based on double standards.

Although Israel’s recent attack on the Iranian consular department in Syria is a crime wantonly violating the UN Charter and international conventions, the Western countries have shown no reaction to it, he noted.

Iran will make the aggressors regret bitterly by mounting a resolute and decisive counterattack against them to defend the security and interests of the state, he stressed.
