Ahmed Abu al-Gheit, secretary general of the League of Arab States, on April 17 said that massacre committed by Israel should be halted in the Gaza Strip first in order to resolve escalating tension in the Middle East. 

He warned that the recent rising tension might threaten the security of the whole region, going out of control by parties concerned. 

In order to prevent the security situation from deteriorating continuously, it is needed to stop Israel’s massacre being perpetrated almost every day, he said, emphasizing again that political settlement is the best way to achieve peace for all.
