Dreamlike happiness
May 16, 2024I have been working at the central heat supply network station for over 40 years.
My father, too, was a worker, and so is my wife.
The state, however, allotted to my family a new, modern flat on Rimhung Street.
My wife and I read my name on the house licence time and again, and we could hardly get to sleep all night, full of gratitude to the people-centred socialist system of our country.
How can I express the feeling in a word?
Even when the builders gave us the keys to the new flat and asked us to open the door, I felt as if I was dreaming. And I could never calm myself, looking at the spacious living rooms with electric heating, the kitchen and the sunny balconies.
We had previously lived in a house built by the state without paying a penny, and now I felt a lump in my throat as the new, wonderful flat was allotted to my family.
This is not what only my family members feel.
All the other families who have moved into new flats in the street must have the same feeling.
The street resounded with the shouts of “Long live the Workers’ Party!” and “Long live the socialist system!” And all the flats were lit until late at night as their owners were absorbed in telling about the stories of their happiness.
Full of delight, they spent the night enjoying the nocturnal view of the splendid street or sharing the news of happiness with brothers and sisters or friends.
In the world there are many countries and many streets boasting civilization and luxury, but it is in our country alone that the state builds and allots modern luxurious houses to ordinary working people gratis.
The marvellous flats on the street are indeed the priceless fruit of love of General Secretary
Therefore, our family members expressed deep gratitude to the General Secretary and firmly pledged to work heart and soul for the prosperity of the socialist country.
