Japan keeps discharging nuclear wastewater into ocean
May 24, 2024Japan continuously discharges nuclear contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power station into the ocean.
On May 17, the Tokyo electric power company said that the sixth round of dumping of nuclear wastewater into the sea started and its amount would reach about 7 800 tons by June 4.
Japan has reportedly dumped about 39 000 tons of nuclear wastewater into the Pacific Ocean since August last year.
Its dumping of the wastewater is provoking denunciation and criticism from its neighbouring countries and the international community.
