Russian President Vladimir Putin referred to the tasks facing the country as he addressed a meeting of the council of strategic development and state planning on May 29.

It is the primary task of Russia to value the people and promote their health and well-being, he said.

He called for strengthening the country’s technological independence, training talents of the present times and widely applying innovative digital technologies to raise the stability of the economy and ensure new qualitative development in all sectors.

He put forward the improvement of ecological environments of urban and rural areas as one of the priority tasks.

He said that the efforts of the members of regional and autonomous organs, entrepreneurs and social organizations and the creativity of citizens play a crucial role in attaining the objectives of the national plan, urging the government to analyze the opinions of the federal entities in detail and involve regional representatives in the implementation of social tasks in practice, not for the sake of formality.

He stressed that all the members of the government organs should realize that they are working in a historic period for Russia and always work diligently.
