Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov ridiculed the US and the West in a press conference held after a meeting of foreign ministers of BRICS on June 11.

Referring to the structure-destroying characters of the selfish protectionist policy pursued by the US and its allies, he asserted that the West is unaware that its moves to maintain domination by dint of blackmail, illegal sanctions and ultimatum and even by force of arms are doomed to failure.

The West does not think of building bridges for cooperation with Russia and China, but it uses bricks only for building walls and hitting those who do not obey it on the head, he scoffed.

He criticized the West for pouring hundreds of billions of dollars into Ukraine to keep the anti-Russia war going.
