Russia works to build up combat capability

The maritime flying corps of the Russian Baltic Fleet staged a tactical flight drill on July 2, according to the public information office of the fleet.

The drill reportedly involved more than 15 warplanes and over 300 troops.

During the drill, pilots practised the methods of covering the ground units by dint of firepower, hitting the enemy’s command posts and assembly area of armoured technical equipment and manpower in the depth and carrying out aerial reconnaissance.

On the same day, the public information office of Russia’s Northern Fleet said that a Tu-142 anti-submarine aircraft belonging to the fleet conducted a planned flight in the sky over neutral waters of the Arctic Ocean.
