To plant many trees on mountains is not simply a technical matter, but a patriotic undertaking for the everlasting prosperity of the country and the happiness of people.

On his visit to the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection in November 2014, General Secretary Kim Jong Un stressed the urgency of conducting a mass movement related to afforestation and called for waging the movement to win the title of Forest of Socialist Patriotism.

True to his patriotic appeal, all the people of the DPRK turned out in the movement.

In January 2019, a decree of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK was issued on awarding the title of Forest of Socialist Patriotism to exemplary units and many units have won the title so far across the country.
