Secret behind straight wins
November 9, 2024South Phyongan Province took first place in succession at the show for improving the quality of school uniforms and bags held this year.
The Phyongsong School Uniform Factory in the province won the national show for improving quality in succession and rounded off the production of seasonal school uniforms to be supplied to the new students of schools at all levels in time. Of course, the work of the factory was not smooth from the outset. Like other units, the factory was just inaugurated and therefore it encountered difficulties it had to quickly resolve in production activities, including the quality problem.
To solve these problems, the province decided to appoint a competent person as the head of the factory. It promoted a person, who had been working as manageress of a not-so-large garment production unit, since she advanced to society. And it appointed a person recognized as the number one in clothes making as an advisor to the factory, thus ensuring the organic combination of rich experience and outstanding ability. As a result, every effort of the factory has been directed to attaining the goal of improving the quality of school uniforms. Once, the manageress went to a nearby school to familiarize herself with the reality. She noticed that parents had to often repair uniforms as their children outgrew their clothes and that the colour of the thread they used was different from that of the uniform cloth. Therefore, the factory focused on solving the problem and its officials came up with the idea of attaching a pocket with spare thread for each school uniform.
This year the province has renovated production processes with dozens of modern facilities including a laser cutter and hydraulic press at the Phyongsong Bag Factory. It set it as a principle that the facilities for the production of school uniforms should be the best and most advanced ones and that nothing should be spared for the younger generation. Accordingly, they worked out an ambitious plan for modernizing the production processes of the factory and carried it out in a short span of time. This was the main factor that enabled the factory to win the national show in succession.
Meanwhile, the province put the shoes produced by the Phyongsong Students’ Shoes Factory to test by making dozens of students wear them in order to acquaint themselves with the quality of the shoes every day with their own eyes and adopt timely solutions. According to a provincial official, many defects have been overcome in the course of such efforts for improving their quality.
Even though the system and method of work for the rising generations are excellent, it does not mean that quality school uniforms, shoes and bags are produced of their own accord. It is another secret of success achieved by South Phyongan Province that those who are in charge of the implementation of the popular policies of the Workers’ Party of Korea have kept the steadfast stand that they are fully responsible for their implementation and possess excellent practical abilities.
