The demand for and popularity of shoes of the Ryuwon Footwear Factory are growing among the DPRK people as they are widely known to the whole country.

The factory, called a model unit and standard factory in the footwear industry sector of the country, has achieved great success in increasing the variety of shoes and improving their quality over the past decade.

Officials and employees of the factory made strenuous efforts to develop new products.

Designers worked hard to make each product representative of the factory in designing shoes according to age, kind and season.

They deeply studied the world trend in the development of the footwear industry and introduced the latest science and technology and perfected designs while examining the technical principles of excellent products. They thus have invented over 1 500 designs over the past decade.

The factory has developed over 1 520 new products on the principle of introducing into production samples highly appreciated at a products show organized in a planned way.

By putting efforts into the modernization of equipment, the factory set up new production lines, introduced efficient jigs and tools and established an automatic cutting process.

Now, the expanded kinds of the factory’s products number over 100 with trainers as its major production indexes. 

The factory’s products were highly appreciated at a national footwear exhibition and other shows and it produced a lot of academic degree and title holders and highly skilled workers as it conducted production and management activities with the consumers’ demand and assessment as the criterion.

The products of the factory are quite popular with purchasers, especially, young people including university and college students as they are smart, light, of good quality and good for exercise.

In January 2015, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the factory and gave a task to launch a dynamic drive to produce shoes which would be popular with the people, symbolic of it and flawless even in foreign markets.
