The US State Department recently issued the “2025 report on the law on Hong Kong policy” and decided to impose sanctions on six Chinese officials, which invited strong criticism from China. 

A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry in a press conference said that the US “report” is full of absurd lies and arguments geared to slandering the political system of China and the human rights situation in Hong Kong.

This despicable act showed their sinister intention to wreck prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and check China’s development by seriously interfering in the internal affairs of China, he stressed.

He said that China would resolutely counter the US’ misbehavior in the future.

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry mission in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region said that Hong Kong is China’s Hong Kong and the Hong Kong issue solely belongs to China’s internal affairs and, therefore, any foreign interference will not but fail, urging the US to abide by the principles of international law and basic rules of international relations and stop the interference in the Hong Kong issue and the internal affairs of China.
