Forestry sector enhances prospects for stepping up timber production
May 1, 2025The forestry sector has carried out its annual timber production plan at over 90 percent by March 31 through a drive for increased production to greet the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea with proud labour achievements.
This is a notable success made in the struggle for implementing the Party’s policy on timber industry to carry out a large share of the annual timber production in winter.
Officials and workers in the forestry sector channelled efforts into the preparations for production after setting a high goal and repaired and maintained vehicles by securing fuel and materials and tapping internal reserves in a short span of time.
Meanwhile, the construction of transportation roads, mountain hostels and timber yards was pushed to make full preparations.
Forestry stations and mine timber production stations across the country have concentrated labour and equipment and introduced various efficient working methods to make innovations in every timber felling site.
They have registered high production results every day in all processes, including timber felling and pruning, overcoming difficulties by pooling creative wisdom and effort.
They are now directing efforts to the final transportation of logs stacked at the mountain timber yards so as to deliver them to destinations in time.
