Dozens of young people in North Hamgyong Province offered to work at theatres of socialist construction.

Those in Puryong and Kilju counties requested their youth league organizations to send them to the county construction brigades. Those in Kim Chaek City and Orang, Kyonghung and Myonggan counties volunteered for raw materials base stations, while those in Chongjin and Hoeryong cities and Musan and Myongchon counties advanced to mines, farms, forestry stations and other workplaces seething with the drive for increased production and economy.

A girl teacher of Myonggan County Town decided to work at a branch school in a mountainous area, leaving a deep impression on people.

A meeting was held on May 14 to congratulate the volunteers.

Certificates of volunteering were awarded to the volunteers and congratulatory and oath-taking speeches were made at the meeting attended by Kim Yong Hwan, chief secretary of the North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the youth league and young people.

There was a congratulatory performance at the end of the meeting.
