Hopes of orphaned children fulfilled

On his visit to the Taesongsan General Hospital in May eleven years ago, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un showed parental affection to dozens of orphaned children from South Phyongan Province, who were recuperating there, as he embraced them warmly.

At that time, the little kids ran toward him to throw themselves into his arms, saying, “How are you, fatherly Marshal?” and “Please hug me, fatherly Marshal”. They are now growing soundly and healthily as reliable future pillars of the country at Phyongsong Middle School for Orphans.

According to Principal Kim Chun Yong, all of them who received warm blessings of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un that day, are studying well and growing brightly as they cultivate talents to their heart’s content at different hobby groups including accordion, vocal music and football groups according to their aptitudes and wishes.

She said that the school produces many talents every year, including those who presented literary works to the respected fatherly Marshal several times to delight him, those who won a high appraisal at national performances of artistic groups and those who were successful at national sports contests of students at schools for orphans.

Among them, there are Kim Jang Hwa, who posed for a camera with the Marshal as a participant in the Ninth Congress of the Korean Children’s Union, Ri Yong Bok, winner of the Kim Il Sung Children Honour Prize, and An Phil Nyo who is admired as a talented soloist.

Even at present, they all dearly cherish the memory of that unforgettable day when they sang the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" in front of the Marshal who embraced them affectionately as he stroked their cheeks.

“Whenever the new school year comes round, our schoolchildren are provided with new uniforms and other school things and they are the first to receive delicious fruits according to seasons. And every spring and autumn, they are provided with new sportswear, underwear, footwear and all other things necessary in life. As they know so well how great and warm the love is, the affection shown by the Marshal who takes utmost care of them, they are exceptionally eager to repay the favour,” said Kim Chun Yong.

Kim Jang Hwa said that he would join the Korean People’s Army after finishing school and become the first hero of the school by performing military feats.

Other schoolchildren are dreaming to become famous scientists, PhDs and sports aces so as to bring joy to the fatherly Marshal.
