A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a routine news briefing on May 13 said that Japan should sincerely draw lessons from history.

Earlier, China and Russia issued a joint statement to urge Japan to be discreet when talking about history and to part with militarism. 

As for the criticism of the statement by the chief of the Cabinet Secretariat of Japan, the Chinese spokesman said that Japan found fault with the call for justice of China and Russia that they should make efforts to jointly safeguard the truth of history and bring peace to the world, rather than ruefully reflecting on its aggressive crimes.
