DPRK players returned home after taking part in the 2025 Asian Weightlifting Championships held in China.
Pak Myong Jin, Ro Kwang Ryol, Kim Il Gyong and Song Kuk Hyang bagged 12 medals including 9 gold medals in the relevant men's and women's weightlifting events.
In particular, Song Kuk Hyang renewed world and Asian records in clean and jerk and total in the women's 71kg category and received the best player award of the championships.
The players, who demonstrated the honour of the country, were greeted by officials in the field of sports, officials concerned, sportspersons and their families at Pyongyang International Airport on May 17.
