A spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a press conference on May 16 criticized the US for unilaterally putting pressure on his country.

As regards the US Department of Commerce’s recent decision to restrict the use of chips of China’s Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, the spokesman accused the US of pressurizing the Chinese artificial intelligence industry without any ground, while broadly interpreting the “concept of national security” and enforcing export control measures at random.

He stressed that China would take a resolute measure against the US unreasonable pressure to defend its right to development and the just rights and interests of its businesses.
