The People's Prize was awarded to the song "Warm Is the Love of Motherland" on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

The song ideologically and artistically represents the endless love and solicitude of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung for Chongryon and the Koreans in Japan. It has positively contributed to inspiring the compatriots to devote themselves to the prosperity of the socialist motherland by uniting on the strength of loyalty and patriotism while keeping boundless reverence for the peerlessly great men generation after generation.

A relevant decree of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK was announced on May 3.
