Architecture in the DPRK is based on the people-first principle.

Even one dot or line of architectural design reflects the aspirations and demands of the masses of the people. All structures thoroughly embody the people-first principle that top and absolute priority should be given to serving the interests of the people and providing them with convenience and that the buildings should be given pass marks by the people. There are many buildings whose names have the word “people”, for example, the Grand People’s Study House, the People's Palace of Culture, the People’s Theatre and the Chongnyu People’s Open-air Ice Rink.

Over the past decade, construction has been in a great golden age in the DPRK and thereby its appearance has been enhanced dramatically.

All this is attributed to the people-first politics of the Workers’ Party of Korea which makes selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.
