A lecture was given at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on May 16 to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

Present there were Chairman Ho Jong Man, First Vice-Chairman Pak Ku Ho, vice-chairpersons and officials of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, chairpersons of Chongryon headquarters in the Kanto area, etc.

The director of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan gave a lecture under the title of "The great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung, the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il and the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un have made the proud 70-year history of Chongryon with brilliant wisdom, outstanding leadership, boundless love and paternal care, and the 70-year history of Chongryon which has remained faithful to their intentions is the history of unity and struggle in which Chongryon has made a dynamic advance, united as closely as one".

He described the seven decades of Chongryon as the history of the outstanding leadership and paternal care of the great leaders and the respected Marshal, the history of unity in which Chongryon has united as one under the banner of patriotism, true to the noble intentions of the great Generalissimos and the respected Marshal and the history of struggle in which it has unyieldingly fought against all sorts of discrimination and suppression by the Japanese authorities and other reactionaries at home and abroad.

He pointed to Chongryon’s tradition of loyalty to the leader and unity and the devotion and self-sacrificing spirit of Chongryon officials and other patriotic compatriots recorded in the course of struggle and called on the Chongryon officials to invariably and steadfastly carry forward the tradition of patriotic loyalty and unity under the leadership of the respected Marshal.
