Modern farmhouses are being built all across the country in the new era of rural development.

As single- and low-storeyed and terraced houses are constructed distinctively to suit the topographical features of each area and region, the appearance of rural villages undergoes a radical change with the passage of time.

This year rural houses for more than 20 000 families are to be built in 130 cities and counties, and lots of houses, including those in Rajinpho-ri in Yonan County, Sinsaeng-ri in Chongdan County, Osongsan-ri in Kimhwa County and Yokkudo-ri in Paechon County, are nearing completion.

Builders of dwelling houses in Sinsaeng-ri and Osongsan-ri are striving to build those houses as distinctive structures reflecting the ideals and civilization of agricultural workers, while those of the city of Rason are constructing houses as structures with distinct regional features embodying modern civilization.

In different other cities and counties, including Songnim City and Sungho County, builders are giving finishing touches to structures, like the arrangement of sites, while introducing advanced construction methods and establishing a strict system for ensuring the quality of construction.

Seeing the excellent houses they dreamed of rising up, the agricultural workers are filled with absolute trust in the programme for the rural revolution of the Workers’ Party of Korea and optimism about the future.
