The chairman of the Commission of the African Union called on all Africans to endeavour for peace, prosperity and integration of the continent with united efforts in his speech delivered at an event to mark the Day of Africa on May 24.

Now, Africa works hard to solve the difficult political problems, disputes and youth unemployment and secure its rightful position in the international arena, he said.

Africa will not be bound by the past sufferings and the Africans should defend their resources and promote development through such initiatives as free trade area, he noted, adding that everyone should exert all their wisdom and efforts to build a united and prosperous Africa.
