Regional rejuvenation

June 12, 2025

It has been a long-standing convention to think that it is inevitable for regions to lag behind the capital.

But it has now become an outmoded thinking.

Over the past three years, dwelling houses for over 80 700 families have been built in over 1 500 farming villages in the DPRK. And now houses for over 20 000 families are under construction.

According to the Regional Development 20×10 Policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea, regional-industry factories are being built in 20 cities and counties each year. And the construction of modern health facilities, multi-functional leisure complexes and grain storage facilities is progressing apace.

A new era of regional rejuvenation is being ushered in thanks to the Party’s plan to make the capital envious of the regions, make the regional development represent the advance and progress of the state and make the ideal appearance of the regions the true image of Korean-style socialism.
