A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly denounced the US for having exercised its veto against a resolution of the UN Security Council demanding an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in a statement on June 5.

The US’ hindrance to the passing of the resolution shows that it is involved in Israeli crimes, he said, stressing that the US impudently neglected the demand of the international community and the people in West Asia for stopping Israel’s criminal acts.

The US has exercised its veto against the resolutions of the UN Security Council on different occasions for the past decades to further consolidate Israel’s right to evade responsibility, he disclosed.
