Russian president refers to national military equipment plan
June 16, 2025Russian President Vladimir Putin set forth a task of drawing up a new national plan for military equipment in a consultative meeting on June 11.
The task facing the state at present is to newly work out a long-term plan for all weapon systems and military equipment, he stated.
The plan should be worked out by making the most of the experience obtained from the special military operations and various regional disputes and in consideration of the global trend of the developing military technology and the nub of the plan will be the development of the weapon systems of the Russian federal armed forces and units and subunits of special organs, he noted.
The execution of the national plan should definitely be consistent with the documents on the defence and construction plan of the Russian armed forces, the general mobilization plan of the economy and other strategic plans, he said, pointing to the need to pay special attention to the three major nuclear elements which have guaranteed the sovereignty of Russia not only in the past but also at present and which are playing the key role in keeping the balance of forces in the world.
