A spokesman for the Chinese Defence Ministry at a press interview on June 13 denounced the military collusion between the US and Taiwan.

In connection with the fact that the US and Taiwan are insisting on the strengthening of cooperation in the field of military hardware, he said that the Taiwan issue entirely belongs to the internal affairs of China and, therefore, interference from any outside forces is intolerable.

Noting that instigating the forces “seeking independence of Taiwan” to manoeuvres to divide China and supporting it will only destroy peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the region, he stressed that any attempts to pursue independence with the backing of outside forces and to “control China by means of Taiwan” would be doomed to failure.
