In the DPRK, the Model Worker Honour Prize is awarded to ordinary working people who have supported the country with their sincere labour.

This year, well over a hundred working people have won the prize.

It was instituted in 1989.

The prize is awarded to those who have worked faithfully at their posts for a long time.

Among those who have won the prize this year are a worker at the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex who has worked devotedly for the normal operation of equipment for decades and women workers at the Sinuiju Textile Mill who have overfulfilled their yearly plans and trained many novices into skilled workers.

They are ordinary working people who have worked devotedly for the socialist system while carrying out their assignments in a responsible manner.

The prize is a high honour for workers and its winners command respect and love from the public and collective.
