Russia asserts: European countries lack independence
July 9, 2025Alexander Grushko, vice-minister of the Russian Foreign Ministry, appearing on a TV programme on July 2, asserted that European countries lack independence.
He disclosed that the military expenditure of all NATO member states accounts for 55 percent of global military expenditure, that is, the military expenditure of 32 NATO member states is larger than that of 163 other countries.
Saying that the European Union has become a very warlike military bloc, he emphasized that it should be taken into consideration that the US controls NATO and NATO controls the EU and that therefore Europeans can never think of their independence before NATO is reorganized.
