It is the keynote of the policies of the Workers’ Party of Korea and its immutable political creed to promote the wellbeing of the people and it is its consistent fighting principle to fulfil their demands without fail.

When I am in distress, who does come to me, to my house, first?

Who knows the people's wishes thoroughly?

Who gives everyone on this land, men and women, young and old, what they want and expect?

To these questions, all the Korean people reply that it is the Workers’ Party of Korea, the great motherly party.

In this country where the Party and the state exist for the good of the people, the starting point, formulation and thorough implementation of Party policies are all subordinated and oriented to the service of the people.

As to its policies which find their way to the people and to wherever they live before they wait for them, the people call them the people-first policies which provide them with not only what they have desired but also what they have not even imagined.

The Party policies reach the most faraway and out-of-the-way places first.

When new farm houses were built first at the Kumchang Farm in Hochon County, South Hamgyong Province, located in the remote mountains, the farmers could not open the doors of their new houses carelessly. They felt as if they were dreaming as they moved into the splendid new houses. Moreover, their children received new school uniforms and school things and are supplied with dairy products every day.

Children in island villages, who saw lorries and trains only on TV, grew up receiving and seeing off planes carrying the generous gifts the Party sent them every year.

The past ten-odd years were never a period of comfort and plenty, but years full of hardships. However, the WPK ushered in the most marvellous new era unprecedented in the history of the Party and the country, overcoming the extreme difficulties.

It is the plan of the Party to make the capital envy the regions, the regional development represent the advance and progress of the state and the ideal appearance of the regions constitute the true picture of Korean-style socialism in the new era.

After looking round regional-industry factories, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un told the accompanying officials that he got naturally gratified and felt relieved of nagging worries at the thought that modern hospitals for the regional people would be built in each city and county. Describing the construction of city and county hospitals as the greatest long-cherished desire of the Party, he said that he always had a heavy heart for the anxiety over how to make not only people in the capital but all the regional people enjoy a civilized life in the near future and that everyone should brave difficulties and hardships to the end.

Although the country's economic situation was not yet favourable and it was difficult to direct energy in reserve, he took an important measure to carry out the construction of the three major essential projects simultaneously with that of regional-industry factories. Through his journey of devotion to the people, they witnessed a new history of regional development and rejuvenation whose breadth and depth are immeasurable.

Last year witnessed the completion of modern regional-industry factories in 20 cities and counties including Songchon County, the Kangdong Combined Greenhouse Farm and the Sinpho City Offshore Farm which was built as a new model base of advanced offshore farming.

In recent years, new spheres of happiness and civilization have appeared this way.

The Korean people carry out any tasks without fail, however difficult and enormous they may be, as they firmly believe that every policy of the Party and the government is for the promotion of their rights, interests and health and that what the Party is determined to do and plans is always translated into brilliant reality.

Under the leadership of the great Party, which leads the people from a revolution to a greater revolution and from a stage of development to a higher stage of change, large numbers of modern new streets, villages and factories rise up across the country while the ranks of meritorious persons and labour innovators increase and high-yielding farmers and workteams appear in succession on this land. Young people and those women who confined themselves to housekeeping in the past volunteer for labour-consuming workplaces and a dynamic drive for implementing the Party's policies is conducted in every workplace.

With great vitality, the WPK’s policies change persons, work sites, mountains and rivers beyond recognition everywhere.

The people wholeheartedly support the policies of the Party, which perfectly realizes their dreams and ideals, with the pride and honour of living on this land where the policies find their way to them.
