Russia decides to close Polish consulate general
July 15, 2025The Russian Foreign Ministry decided to close down the Polish consulate general in Kaliningrad.
On July 11 the foreign ministry called the Polish charge d' affaires ad interim in the country to hand over a memorandum on closing down the Polish consulate general in Kaliningrad from August 29 as a countermeasure against the Polish authorities’ closure of the Russian consulate general in Krakow.
Asserting that this countermeasure has been taken due to the groundless and hostile act of the Polish side, the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that acts unfriendly to Russia will bring forth appropriate counteraction and consequences.
