The Korea green industry development corporation has brought out deep-sea water, invigorating water and Grifola frondosa β-glucan drink, which are good for people’s health.

The deep-sea water is natural small-molecule water made by processing deep ocean water upwelling from a depth of 3 000m in Kyongsong Bay in the East Sea of Korea.

The highly absorptive water contains over 90 kinds of minerals which are necessary for the activities and growth of living organisms.

In general, deep ocean water is sea water under the depth of below 900m, which is formed when the water of high density just under the frozen sea surface goes down and flows under high pressure along the deep ocean water general circulation currents for hundreds or thousands of years.

It is completely free from pollution and very similar to blood or other body fluids in terms of mineral composition and coupling angle of water molecules.

Deep ocean water is widely used in light industry, healthcare, agriculture, fishery and food production, among others.

Ri Kyong Ho, section chief of the corporation, said that the economic additional value of deep-sea water is rising with the rapid development of modern science and technology and, therefore, deep-sea water is known as “deep-sea blue gold” worldwide.

The corporation succeeded in taking deep ocean water in Kyongsong Bay in December 2022 in accordance with the trend of the deep ocean water development industry and established the germ- and dust-free deep-sea water production line and started its operation in June 2023.

The Grifola frondosa β-glucan drink is a high-grade health drink made by combining deep ocean water of the East Sea and Grifola frondosa β-glucan which is noted as the most efficacious among β-glucans known as excellent natural immunity-boosting agents. It has special effects in tumorigenic inhibition, immunity reinforcement, blood-sugar reduction and antioxidant activation.

Grifola frondosa with a distinctive taste and flavour is rated to be higher in various biological activities than Ganoderma lucidum, songi mushroom and Lentinus edodes which are popular around the world. In recent years, many countries are competitively using the valuable medicinal material in the development of medicines and health foods.

At present, the deep-sea water, invigorating water and Grifola frondosa β-glucan drink good for human activities and health are winning great favour with customers.
