Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 13 set forth a task for the fishery sector.

He said that the fishery sector of Russia is now faced with a huge task of systematically modernizing the coastal and production infrastructure and renovating fishing fleets.

He underlined the need for the fishery sector to provide modern workplaces, train highly qualified experts and pay primary attention to developing fishing village areas.

He said that the development of the fishing industry is part of the vital work related to solving social problems such as food security and the improvement of the people’s living standards.
