The Palestinian foreign ministry issued a statement on August 4 to denounce the speaker of the US House of Representatives for his recent tour of a Jewish settlement in the Palestinian territory on the West Bank.

The statement termed the trip encouragement to Israel’s expansion of Jewish settlements, the Jewish settlers’ crimes and the seizure of the Palestinian territory and an act of frustrating all efforts for regional peace.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Palestinian National Council stressed that the US House Speaker’s trip was a dangerous behaviour of defending Israel’s occupation and violation of international law and an incitement to the Jewish settlers’ murder, arson and violence against the Palestinians.
