Japanese politicians recklessly visit Yasukuni Shrine
August 19, 2025The Japanese group of supra-partisan lawmakers “Association of dietmen for visiting Yasukuni Shrine” visited the shrine en masse on August 15.
Fifty-two dietmen belonging to the Liberal Democratic Party, Japan Innovation Party, National Democratic Party and others thronged to the shrine keeping the name tablets of A-class war criminals.
That day, Prime Minister Ishiba reportedly made offerings to the shrine.
The Japanese politicians’ rash act of inciting the revival of militarism while collectively visiting the shrine, a spiritual tool and symbol of overseas aggression war, and making offerings to it, is arousing protest and denunciation from the international community.
